IT'S TIME TO TELL:

Catharsis Foundation is a non-profit incorporated in 2004, based out of Calgary AB for ALL survivors of child abuse — internationally.

Catharsis Foundation:

• encourages survivors of all forms of child abuse TO TELL!
• supports survivors's cathartic autobiographical books
• is dedicated to fighting child abuse and exposing abusers
• would like to compile a list of survivors to unite survivors
• is committed to raise awareness

ell the world that children are secretly being hurt and they know this first-hand! Reveal the truth and prevalence of child abuse!

• Tell the world, and themselves, that children are NEVER to blame! Stop carrying the blame, and the shame, and the guilt - and return it to its rightful owner - the abuser!

• Tell the world about the WHO's, WHAT's, WHEN's, WHERE's and HOW's of child abuse and how abusers operate. (Would any abusers like to tell us WHY? because only they know!)

• Tell each other about coping and healing strategies - encourage healing and recovery and teach survivors how to reclaim their lives.

Because TELLING is the Key to stopping child abuse!

Writing, journaling and telling are acts of 'Catharsis'. Exposing and having abusers held accountable and answer for their crimes are acts of 'Closure'. Catharsis and Closure are both helpful in the recovery process and the ability to 'get past' child abuse for most survivors. Child abuse is more prevalent than anyone wants to admit and society dismisses, abuses and neglects survivors, further contributing towards making catharsis and closure difficult, if not impossible.

Survivors can choose to be silent and protect abusers...
Or stand up and speak out against child abuse
After all - Abusers had the choice!
To selfishly use, hurt and abuse children...
Or to generously nurture, love and protect children
What was their choice? What is your choice?

Many survivors feel like they are labeled and dismissed as being unintelligent, disposable, worthless or unimportant but survivors are the keys to exposing the truth and raising awareness of the prevalence and the effects of child abuse! Survivors KNOW who the abusers are - is this why they need to be dismissed and quieted? If there were ten houses with children in your neighborhood, the likelihood is that in about five of them, the children are secretly being abused - but from the outside, everything appears to be 'normal'.

The first two years (of Catharsis Foundation) revealed that many people have already written their cathartic journals, have managed to recover from child abuse and are in a position to help others but a forum dedicated to connecting them with other people was required. The focus of Catharsis Foundation changed to accommodate this need. This site promotes information, advice and books written by survivors.

The changes made to this site are a progressive evolution resulting from your suggestions to meet the needs of survivors of all forms of child abuse and the acceptance of the reluctance of financial support from society. Your input and suggestions are always welcome as we try to connect survivors with others who have found closure and are willing to help those who still need help and those who have a profound desire inside them to stop child abuse!
