"RIGHTING THE WRITING" EDITING:

'Righting the Writing' Editing works with Catharsis Foundation to help Survivors with the finishing touches of their manuscripts by offering affordable sympathetic and caring editing.

ONLY manuscripts written by Survivors of child abuse about their ordeals, escapes, challenges, hardships or healing are accepted.

SERVICE PROVIDED:

Your manuscript will be critiqued and proofread for grammatical, typographical and spelling errors, word redundancy and rambling, punctuation, flow and presentation.

Although it is impossible to guarantee that your work will be published – unless you self-publish or have your book printed yourself – your finished book will be promoted on Catharsis Foundation’s SCARRED website.

You are not required to have your book edited by 'Righting the Writing' Editing to have your book promoted on the SCARRED website, but it is recommended.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR MANUSCRIPT:

• Email your Microsoft Word document as an attachment to:

Include your name and indicate your payment method (see below) in your email

• Mail disc (Microsoft Word doc) or printed hard copy to:

Include your name and phone number/email address as well as a return address label with your payment.

Only Microsoft Word documents or printed-out hard copies accepted.
Do not send hand-written manuscripts.

Your document will be returned to you with corrections and suggestions in red within a timely manner (depending on the length of your book).  You may accept or reject any suggestions – because ultimately, these are YOUR words and YOUR books!

Only $3.50 per page

• 12-point Arial or Times New Roman font
• minimum 1” margins – sides, tops and bottoms
• single spaced with double-spacing between paragraphs

Partial pages – pro-rated to nearest half or quarter page
No charge for title pages or non-edited pages

Your books need to be written and they need to be read because cathartic manuscripts (or journals)....

But finding someone to edit your book of wisdom about life and suffering caused by child abuse has its own set of challenges...

• asking someone you know could be somewhat embarrassing
• it may be difficult for someone close to you to be objective or candid
• other editors can be snobbish and expensive

HERE'S THE FINE PRINT (to alleviate any fears)

1. By sending your manuscript and making payment, you are requesting 'Righting the Writing' Editing to proofread and edit your manuscript. This service entails a one-time reading and editing of your manuscript. Any subsequent editing after corrections have been made must be re-submitted as a first-time editing agreement.
2. You have the option to accept or reject any corrections or suggestions made by
   'Righting the Writing' Editing.
3. Your work will be edited and returned to you within a timely manner - depending on length of your manuscript and the number of manuscripts received ahead of yours. In the unlikely event it becomes apparent that it may take longer than 12 weeks to complete and return your manuscript, you will be advised in advance and you may then opt to have your payment and manuscript returned unedited or to agree on extra time.
4. No refunds can be made once the editing work has been performed.
5. In the event your order is cancelled due to 'Righting the Writing' Editing's inability to edit your manuscript within 12 weeks, or other mutually agreed upon time frame, shipping charges will be waived and returned to you (with your full payment and disc or manuscript) otherwise, shipping charges are not refundable.
